Genex Poultry
NEW ENERGY FIGURES REVEALED
Recent R&D has revealed exciting new Metabolisable Energy values for Genex Poultry.
Work at the Scottish Agriculture College, under the supervision of Dr Tom Acamovic and Dr Jill Offer of the Avian Science Research Centre, shed new light on the energy effects of Optivite’s naturally derived feed treatment. True Metabolisable Energy studies on broilers fed maize based feeds showed that 4 kg of Genex Poultry improved the Metabolisable Energy by 0.65 Mj/kg or 155 kCal/kg.
“This is a very interesting discovery”, commented Optivite Group Chairman, Richard Scragg. “Genex Poultry is well known for its ability to control the levels of pathogenic bacteria in feeds and that cleaner feed, being better utilised, helps improve bird performance. But, being able to ascribe an energy value up-front and use this in feed formulation undoubtedly makes significant savings in feed costs.”
MD, Mike Corbett added “Bacterial control in our poultry industry is becoming ever more important. Now our producers can achieve this at minimal cost, whilst maintaining or improving bird performance.”
Technical note
Feed ME values may be reduced by 155 kCal/kg (0.65 Mj/kg) or
Ascribe Genex Poultry an ME value of 38,750 kCal/kg (163 Mj/kg)
Include Genex Poultry at 4kg per tonne of feed
