Nutrients in animal feed which readily oxidise e.g. fats, oils, vitamins and pigments, quickly deplete the reserves of natural antioxidants. In the same way individual supplementary antioxidants are also quickly used up as they protect these key nutrients.

The Optivite antioxidant range utilises the cascade principle involving construction of multi-component systems containing sacrificial elements to sequentially quench free radicals. This concept helps ensure that tocopherol (Vitamin E), the body's primary antioxidant, is spared as much as possible, enabling it to perform more important functions at the cellular level, helping to maintain integrity of tissues and the health of the animal; key to optimising animal performance.
